Details:
12 day mission trip (plus two days of travel) to Peru on June 24th, 2004.
Bob Curtis (a friend who I got to know thru the previous Peru trip) was
coordinating the trip a few months beforehand, with the volunteer staff of
Frontline Ministries and the leader of Young Life in Peru (folks we worked with
last time). I jumped onboard about 3 weeks prior to the trip, to join what
had already been planned. The folks we worked with this time were from a
mixture of efforts, involving both Frontline Ministries and Young life, and included
the following: Pepe Acat, Luis Gonzales, Isaias Grados, Janet Delgado, Enrique/Nana/Viviana
Vargas, Lynda Hunnicutt, Michael Cummings, Erin Spokes, Julie, Jorge Rodrigez,
Elsa/Angelina/Ruth Grados, Cesar, and a church group from Colorado.
Intent:
My intent was two fold. It was similar to the last trip by spending
time with orphanage kids, participating in heavy 3rd world construction, and
experiencing more of God. But I also wanted to work thru thoughts from my
relationship and continue working to identify my Spiritual gift.
My Journal:
I spent plenty of time journaling on this trip. I wanted to capture as
many memory fragments as possible, so I could process more later.
